Responsibilities

Position Purpose: Risk management associate to work with dairy and food service team. Learn the functions, strategies and techniques to become an effective Commodity Risk Management Professional by working with an experienced team of Risk Management Consultants to broaden the team’s client base. Expand the companies capability in the livestock and dairy risk management space.

           

Primary Accountabilities/Responsibilities: 

  • Complete risk management training curriculum including classroom instruction and on-site learning under the guidance of an experienced team of Risk Management Consultants.
  • Learn and become a Livestock Insurance Agent.
  • Facilitate and assist with margins, daily trade checks and confirmations, trade entry, customer service email inquiries, and new account paperwork.
  • Assist in the execution of futures, options and swaps that support client’s commodity risk management strategies.
  • Monitor daily energy and agricultural commodity price database inputs for accuracy, track and input basis pricing, and perform historical matrix calculations.
  • Assist in producing and issuing daily, weekly, monthly commodity price analysis and manage recipient database.
  • Assist with research/analysis and data feed design of our market research library.
  • Assist with accounts payable/receivable processes.
  • Utilize Salesforce and research databases to qualify new business leads.
  • Assist with Salesforce entry and marketing campaigns for current leads; provide general upkeep and maintenance of Salesforce database.
  • Review client counterparty financial statements, maintain client counterparty databases, collect recent counterparty news, and facilitate the creation and distribution of monthly credit exposure and credit evaluation reports.
  • Maintain prompt and regular attendance.

Early Careers Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Finance, Marketing or related fields preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (preferably Excel)
Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer

Working Environment

  • Climate controlled office environment
  • Minimal physical requirements other than occasional light lifting of boxed materials
  • Dynamic, time-sensitive, trade room environment
  • Travel as needed

 

Education / Certification Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, Ag Economics and/or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Candidates graduating after June 2027 will NOT be considered.
  • Candidates on the West Coast preferred. 

 

This role offers compensation typical for entry-level financial services positions in the region.
