Business Segment Overview:

Commercial: With boots on the ground authenticity at the heart of everything we do, our comprehensive array of commercial products and services enable you to work directly with our clients, across hedging, risk management, execution and clearing, OTC products, commodity finance and more.

Position purpose: StoneX Commodity Solutions LLC is part of StoneX Group Inc., a global financial services network that connects clients to markets across commodities, risk management, and physical supply. Our SCS Specialty Coffee team provides green coffee sourcing, sales, trade execution, and risk-management solutions to roasters, importers, and specialty coffee partners.

This is a dual-focus position that blends front-line customer relationship management with behind-the-scenes trade and operations support. The Customer Success Associate / Trade Assistant is the connective tissue of the desk — keeping customers informed and supported while ensuring trades, contracts, and logistics run smoothly from execution through delivery. It is an ideal opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented professional who wants exposure to both the commercial and operational sides of the specialty coffee trade.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, SCS Specialty Coffee, this role serves as a primary day-to-day contact for customers and as a core support resource for the sales and trading team. On the customer success side, you will own the post-sale relationship — onboarding accounts, coordinating samples, communicating order and shipment status, and resolving issues. On the trade-assistant side, you will support contract administration, position tracking, logistics coordination, and trade documentation. Success in this role means customers feel well cared for and the desk’s trades and records are accurate, timely, and audit-ready.

Note on role design: This role is currently structured as a single, combined position covering both customer success and trade-assistant responsibilities (approximately a 50/50 split). As the desk grows, the intent is to split it into two specialized roles. The successful candidate will help shape and document both functions in the interim.

Responsibilities

Primary duties will include:

Customer Success

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for assigned specialty green coffee customers.
  • Onboard new accounts and maintain accurate, up-to-date customer records in the CRM.
  • Coordinate coffee sample requests end to end — dispatch, tracking, and follow-up on approvals.
  • Proactively communicate order status, contract milestones, delivery timelines, and relevant market updates to customers.
  • Respond to customer inquiries promptly, resolve issues, and escalate complex matters to the appropriate sales executive or trader.
  • Support customer retention and, in partnership with the sales team, identify opportunities to grow existing accounts.
  • Gather customer feedback and share insights with sales and trading to improve service and offerings.

Trade Assistant

  • Support traders and sales executives with trade execution, contract administration, and day-to-day desk operations.
  • Draft, issue, and track purchase and sales contracts, verifying that terms, quantities, prices, and differentials are accurate.
  • Maintain position records, reconcile them against executed trades, and support weekly position reporting.
  • Coordinate logistics with operations — shipment bookings, shipping documents, inventory, and warehouse tracking.
  • Liaise with operations, finance, and settlements on invoicing, payments, and trade documentation.
  • Monitor contract execution milestones such as shipment, first-notice/quality steps, grading, and arrival.
  • Assist with futures and hedging administration and reconciliation under the supervision of the trading team.
  • Maintain data integrity across trading, CRM, and reporting systems.

Shared / General

  • Partner across sales, trading, operations, and finance to keep information flowing and deadlines met.
  • Help build and document repeatable processes as the desk scales and the role prepares to split into two functions.
  • Prepare reports, trackers, and dashboards to support the team and leadership.

Qualifications

To land this role you will need:

  • 1–3 years of experience in a customer-facing, operations, administrative, or coordination role — relevant internship experience will also be considered.
  • Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite, and the ability to quickly learn CRM and trade/ERP systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a genuine customer-service orientation.
  • Ability to work onsite at the Alpharetta, GA office and legal authorization to work in the United States.

What makes you stand out:

  • Prior experience in coffee, green coffee, or a related soft-commodities, commodity-trading, import, or logistics environment (preferred, not required).
  • Direct experience with green coffee contracts, ICE Coffee “C” futures, or physical commodity trade operations.
  • Familiarity with trade documentation — contracts, bills of lading, phytosanitary and origin certificates, and warehouse receipts.
  • Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics) and trade/position-management systems.
  • Working knowledge of the specialty coffee supply chain, coffee origins, grading, and quality evaluation.
  • Additional language skills (e.g., Spanish or Portuguese) are a plus given origin and supplier relationships.

Education / Certification Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, agribusiness, economics, finance, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.

Working Style:

  • 4 days per week onsite, 1 day per week remote

Skills & Competencies

  • Detail-oriented and process-driven — accurate with numbers, documents, and records.
  • Relationship-focused — builds trust with customers and internal partners alike.
  • Analytical and numerate — comfortable working with pricing, positions, and reporting data.
  • Adaptable — thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven trading environment.
  • Proactive and accountable — takes ownership and follows through without being prompted.
  • Problem solver — proactively identifies issues and develops practical solutions.
  • Team-oriented — collaborates well across sales, trading, and operations.
