Responsibilities

Job Purpose

Tax Intern will be supporting tax team by contributing to tax provision, compliance, and research activities while developing practical knowledge of corporate taxation. The role provides hands-on experience through collaboration, analysis, and participation in team initiatives, with an emphasis on learning, critical thinking, and professional growth.

 

Primary duties will include: 

  • Assist tax team in preparation of quarterly tax provision and planning for year-end tax provision
  • Assist tax team with tax compliance preparation and review
  • Utilize tax law and ASC 740 research skills in assistance with tax return and tax disclosure analysis.
  • Assist in special tax projects as directed by Tax Counsel, Tax Director, or Tax Manager.
  • Liaise with other departments to obtain financial information.
  • Show initiative and creative thinking skills while working in a team building environment.
  • Ask questions, exercise professional skepticism, propose improvements, seek feedback.
  • Participate in tax team meetings

Early Careers Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s, masters or combined degree from an accredited university in the fields of accounting, business or tax and finishing university by December 2026-August 2027 (entering penultimate year of university)
  • Available for a June 2026 start date for a 8-10 week program
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (preferably Excel)
  • Must be authorized to work in US for any employer
  • Interested in a full-time position in Kansas City

 

Working environment 

  • 4 days in the office, 1 day at home
