Business Segment Overview:

Corporate: Engage in a deep variety of business-critical activities that keep our company running efficiently. From strategic marketing and financial management to human resources and operational oversight, you’ll have the opportunity to optimize processes and implement game-changing policies.

 

Position Purpose: Under direction of the General Counsel and Senior Paralegal, the Paralegal provides legal support services to R.J. B'Brien & Associates, LLC and the broader StoneX organization.

 

Responsibilities

Primary duties will include:

  • Perform e-discovery and other litigation-related tasks at a high level, including using AI and other recent technologies to enhance e-discovery capabilities.
  • Perform legal research as directed by attorneys.
  • Respond to subpoenas and document requests in a timely manner.
  • Spend up to one quarter of the time assisting the Kansas City contracts team on contracts-related work, including non-disclosure and other basic agreements under attorney supervision.
  • Other legal support tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

To land this role you will need: 

  • At least three to five years’ experience in a law firm or in-house legal position preferred.
  • Must exhibit a professional demeanor with an attention to detail, possess strong organizational skills, proofing and editing skills and be able to handle a wide variety of tasks while meeting deadlines.

What makes you stand out:

  • Strong knowledge of or litigation preferred.

Education / Certification Requirements: 

  • Paralegal degree.
  • Certification as a Paralegal as granted by an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited certifying body/institution preferred.

Working Environment:

  • 4 days per week onsite, 1 day per week remote.
  • Self-motivated team player and inquisitive nature.
  • Ability to work independently.

 

Hiring Salary Range $70,000 - $85,000. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity and alignment with market data.)   Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.  This compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
