Business Segment Overview:

Commercial: With boots on the ground authenticity at the heart of everything we do, our comprehensive array of commercial products and services enable you to work directly with our clients, across hedging, risk management, execution and clearing, OTC products, commodity finance and more.

Position Purpose: StoneX Commodity Solutions LLC (SCS) provides commodity finance, price risk management, merchandising, and logistics to its clients as a value-added service. This role will require an originator to develop an understanding of local, national, and global market trends while partnering with customers to learn their business and identify new potential customers for SCS. It will focus on procurement of grains and oilseeds from commercial elevators and producers while balancing risk management, customer relationships, transportation, and logistics.

Responsibilities:

• Contact customers on a regular basis.
• Enter all purchase and sale trade information into the system of record timely.
• Accurately prepare documentation for transactions (such as purchase and sale agreements) and ensure terms of contracts are acceptable under guidelines established by the organization.
• Coordinate transportation for the movement of physical commodities being purchased and sold with logistics service provider.
• Proactively develop prospective customers while providing customer service to existing sales and supplier accounts.
• Obtain market knowledge and insight through continuous communication with product suppliers, customers, and other industry players.
• Accept pricing orders from clients and places them through the appropriate channels.
• Research, document, and verify counterparty information such as financial statements, credit references and trade references for new clients and for the yearly renewal of existing clients.
• Oversee trade positions and identify risk factors along with ways to mitigate those risks.
• Monitor trade limits and receivable limits and communicate with trade control, risk, and management departments daily to ensure trades remain within established credit thresholds.
• Reconcile daily Profit and Loss associated with physical commodity trades and ensures economics are accounted for appropriately (mark-to-market accounting).
• Help develop and provide input on infrastructure & software for better client reporting and process improvement.

Required: 

• Minimum of two years of related work experience in Agriculture, Trade and/or Finance

• Ability to exercise good judgment in assessing opportunities and risk.

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Excellent customer service and sales skills

• Detail oriented, organized, and excellent documentation skills

• Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects in a busy, demanding environment

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Proficient in Microsoft office products

Education: 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Agriculture, Trade and/or Finance field preferred
