Overview

The Trade Execution Associate will collaborate with International Grain, Oilseed, and Feed Ingredient Trading staff to facilitate the purchase, execution and sales of physical grain, oilseed, and feed commodities. This person will work closely with commercial, trade control, settlement, and cash teams to ensure all trades are completed and comply with internal policies and procedures. You will also develop relationships and provide customer service to existing customers. The job will require a high detail oriented professional to demonstrate foresight and mature judgement when translating real world events like contracts and pricing records into the system of record.

Responsibilities

  • Enter all purchase and sale trade information into the system of record timely and accurately
  • Prepare documentation for transactions (such as purchase and sale agreements) and ensure terms of contracts are acceptable under guidelines established by the organization
  • Accept price fixing orders from clients and coordinate positions on hedges of physical commodities with the appropriate department. Ensure those hedges comply with internal policies and exchange rules
  • Coordinate transportation of the movement of physical commodities being purchased and sold with logistics service providers. Ensure all costs of delivery are accounted for appropriately in the system of record
  • Ensure inventory, shipment, and payment information gets entered into our system of record accurately and efficiently by working with the settlements and cash management teams.
  • Build and maintain a close relationship with our partners (suppliers, customers, brokers, and service providers)
  • Keep track of documentation and update the various files needed to successfully execute the different business flows
  • Research, document and verify counterparty information such as financial statements, credit references, and trade references for new clients and for yearly renewal of existing clients
  • Confirm contract, accounts receivable and mark to market reporting being used by commercial, risk, accounting, and management departments are accurate for successful monitoring and portfolio management.
  • Oversee trade positions and identify risk factors
  • Monitor trade limits and receivable limits and communicate with trade control, risk, and management departments daily to ensure trades remain within established credit thresholds
  • Reconcile daily Profit and Loss associated with physical commodity trades and ensures economics are accounted for appropriately (mark-to-market accounting)
  • This list of responsibilities may not be all-inclusive and can be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in International Trade, and/or Finance
  • Bi-Lingual (English and Spanish required)
  • Detail oriented, organized, and excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects in a busy, demanding environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of physical commodities, commodity futures markets, and hedging
  • Proficient in Microsoft Power BI
  • Understanding of databases and basic coding (Python and SQL)

  • Maintain prompt attendance
  • Travel as needed to other offices, client meetings and industry events
  • Dynamic, time-sensitive environment
